Annie Etta Sudderth, known as Teen, peacefully departed this earthly life at her home in Alcoa, Tennessee on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the age of 82. She was an adoring mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Annie was born to George and Flutchie Tolbert on December 12, 1939, in Alcoa, Tennessee. She graduated from Charles M. Hall High School in 1957. She was a doting mother of two children, JR, and Lesley, whom she cherished.
Annie was a genuine woman with a passionate spirit. As a devoted home maker, she expressed her love for others by cooking and helping people as well as playing an instrumental role in caring for neighbors, friends, and family. She raised and took great care of many of the children in her family. Her hobbies included sewing fabulous Christmas decorations annually. She always had a smile on her face and goodness in her heart which she has graciously bestowed upon many throughout her 82 years Earth-side.
Annie is preceded in death by her mother and father, George O. and Flutchie B. Tolbert; Uncle Earnest Bryant; Brother, George O. Tolbert Jr. and niece, Marteace Y. George.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, James F. Sudderth, Jr. of Maryville; Daughter Lesley (Andy) Wood of Smyrna; Sisters, Claudette Kirk of Alcoa; Gwendolyn (Ronald) Black of Oak Ridge; granddaughters, LaTisha Sudderth of Rockford, Vann-Kennedy Wood of Smyrna; great granddaughter, Alani Black of Rockford; nephews, Steven (Tiffany) Kirk of Maryville; Ron (Laura) Black of Oak Ridge; Chris (Sonya) Black of Oak Ridge; Adam (Corbin) Black of Oak Ridge and a host of devoted cousins, relatives and friends.
Graveside service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday December10, 2022, at Sherwood Gardens, Alcoa. Final arrangements entrusted to Foothills Funeral Home. www.foothillsfh.com
