The passing of Carolyn L. Harshaw has called us together today. There is no death An Angel form walks o’re the Earth with Silent Tread and bears our loved away and ever near us Though unseen, their dear immortal spirits treads. For all the boundless universe is life there is no death, the Giver just takes back his loved ones unto himself after they have wrought such beautiful patterns during their sojourn here.

Carolyn Lavetta Harshaw was born on September 20, 1959, to Carnell Echols and Frank Hodge and transitioned to her heavenly home on July11, 2022. Carolyn was preceded in death by mother, Carnell Echols; husband, William Harshaw, Sr., grandparents; brothers, Gilbert Hodge, Michael Franklin and Curtis McRae; stepmother, Linda Hodge; several aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Tameka; son, William Harshaw, Jr.; father, Frank Hodge; grandson, Tamichael; siblings, Cheryl Jordan, Terry Pichon, Tyronda Coffin, Barry McRae, Chico Echols, Reginald Hodge, Angelic Hodge, Alajaon Hodge, Jamie Hodge, Kathy Strickland and Camille Calloway; devoted aunt, Sarah Burgess; uncle, Herbert (Anna) Hodge; special nephew, Jarvis Hodge; sister-in-law, Doris (Richard) Turney; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

Special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice and Sarah Burgess. Family will receive friends at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens from 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday July 16, 2022, with private graveside service to follow. Rev. Dexter L. Jordan officiating.
