Claudette Kirk

Claudette D. Kirk, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Blount Memorial Hospital.

Claudette was born July 30, 1934, to George and FlutchieTolbert. She was the caring mother of Steven and Marteace, whom she loved endlessly. Throughout her life, she had a hand in raising every child that entered the family - teaching many her special recipes in the kitchen and educating them with life’s knowledge. She has left an irreplaceable impact on the family and will truly be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Flutchie B. and George O. Tolbert; daughter, Marteace Y. George; sister, Annie E. Sudderth; and brother, Geroge O. Tolbert, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Steven D. (Tiffany) Kirk, Sr.; grandchildren,  Steven D. Kirk, Jr., (PA), Schlise L. Kirk (PA), Lukas A. Kirk, Jazmyn S. Kirk and Destiny S. Kirk, (Maryville); sister, Gwendolyn (Ronald) Black (Oak Ridge); nephews, J.R. Sudderth (Maryville), Ron (Laura) Black, Chris (Sonya) Black, Adam (Corbin) Black (Oak Ridge) Kevin Ferrer (New York); niece, Lesley (Andy) Wood (Smyrna) Kim Ferrer (New York); great nieces, LaTisha Sudderth (Rockford); Vann-Kennedy Wood (Smyrna);  great-great niece, Alani Black (Nashville);  other great niece, great nephews, devoted cousins, relatives and friends.

Her homegoing service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville. Bishop Dwight Frazier, officiating and Elder Paulette Pace, eulogizing. Internment, Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
