Delores Walker

Delores Porter “Dee” of Alcoa, Tennessee passed away on February 25, 2022, at age 72. Delores was among the initial group of students that integrated Alcoa High School. Dee retired from T.V.A after 42 years of service. Her last position held was head of drafting at Browns Ferry facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

Delores was predeceased by her parents Leroy and Ruby Porter, sister Margaret Cobbs, brother Herbert Porter. Left to mourn her passing are daughters Courtney Sammy, and LaGhana Walker and granddaughters Cori Hamlett, Chrystyn Sammy, and Peyton Potts; sister, Sylvia Porter and brother Leslie Porter; devoted nieces Cecily (Jessie) Sanders, Amy Gill and Nicki Dews; great nieces Jessica and Makenzie Sanders; great-nephews Myles Gill and Mathew Gayle; best friend and devoted Judy knight and devoted cousins Carlin and Victoria Knight; special sister in love Evelyn Walker and numours other cousins and friends.

The family would like to express gratitude to the Pat Summit Clinic and a special thank you to the wonderful staff of Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m.– 6:00 p.m. Friday March 4, 2022, at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville. Funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Alcoa, Saturday March 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. The body will lie in state from 1 :00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church.
