James Hunt, Jr.

James H. Hunt Jr. - “Jim” age 86 of Alcoa, TN passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Foothills Transitional Care in Maryville, TN. He and his deceased wife, Lisa were members of Alcoa 1 st Baptist Church where he continued to attend after her death.

He graduated from Friendsville High School where he played basketball. After graduation, he attended auto-diesel school in Nashville, TN. He served his country for 6 years in the Naval Reserve in Knoxville, TN. He later became an engineer for CSX Railroad (formerly L & N) until his retirement. He enjoyed many hobbies, landscaping, antiques, and he loved cars and served his community with bread, cakes, and cookies.

Jim was the son of the late Henry and Laura Hunt, deceased brothers and sisters, Charles, Eugene, Geraldine Russell, and Glenda Simerly.

Survivors include daughters, Sharon Hunt, Deborah Parker (son-in-law Mike), Janet Tallent (son-in-law Dan), Barbara (Barbie) Hunt Conard, grandchildren, Emalea Nelson, Josh Parker, and Rachel Parker. Many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Ballards Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Louisville with Rev. Michael Parker officiating. Final arrangements entrusted to Foothills Funeral Home. www.foothillsfh.com
