John Wayne Lewis

John Wayne Lewis left earth for heaven on Friday, November 16, 2018. John was a native of Alcoa, grew up in Washington, D.C. and at the time of his passing resided in Knoxville. John was a graduate of both Norfolk State University and Howard University School of Divinity, attained the rank of Captain in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Norfolk State University OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY PI GAMMA CHAPTER.

John loved life, loved his family, loved to talk, truly loved the Lord and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. John was preceded in death by our parents, Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin E. Lewis, Sr. and sister Bridgette Carston. He leaves to remember him always, children Christian Carston, Destiny and Juwuan Lewis; brothers, Rev. Benjamin E. (Tiffany) and Warren Lewis and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends.

John’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 8 ^th at Foothills Funeral Home 910 Lincoln Rd. Maryville, Tenn., 37804 with family visitation from 11-12 and the celebration to follow; Rev. Dr. Joe L. Colquitt, officiating—Rev. Benjamin E. Lewis, Jr. Eulogist.
