Larry Louis Roddy departed this life on May 16, 2022. He attended St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Alcoa from a very young age and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He graduated from Charles M. Hall High School with the class of 1968, attended Paducah University. He worked at ALCOA Aluminum Co. and Y-12 National Security Complex. Larry liked to travel to visit relatives in different parts of the USA, shared experiences about the places he visited. He was extremely knowledgeable of the culture of the people and historical areas in the states.
Preceded in death by parents, Walter (Vesta) Roddy, brothers, Ralph (Bertha) and McKeithen Roddy. Paternal grandparents, Thomas (Alice) Roddy, Maternal, Alford (Ollie) Day, sisters, Helen (Otis) Tanks, Drewena (Grady) Knighton, nephews, Marvin, Grady (Helen) Knighton, niece, Charlene (Coleman) Zeno.
Larry leaves to celebrate his life, sisters Katheline Tate, Carroll (Robert) Henry, Sr. A special aunt, Elaine Roddy Simpson, a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially the caring classmates of Charles M. Hall, 1968.
Family will receive friends at Foothills Funeral Home 910 E. Lincoln Rd. Maryville, on Tuesday May 24, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. – noon with funeral service to follow. MASK will be required. Interment to follow service at East TN Veteran’s Cemetery, 2200 John Sevier Hwy. Knoxville.
