Linda Mcdermott

LINDA WILLLIAMS MCDERMOTT, age 72, a lifelong resident of Etowah, TN passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her son’s home in Greenback, TN. Linda was a graduate of the McMinn Central High School. She was a member of Mount Olive AME Zion Church before her declining health curtailed her attendance. She retired from Textron (Collins & Akins) in Athens after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-Law James and Ronda Black, her husband, Luther McDermott, parents, Charles and

Margaret Williams, sisters, Anna Jewel Jones, Jeanette Caldwell, Jacqueline McDermott, Deborah Williams and one brother, Charles Williams.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Julie Black, sister Dorothy Lemon, sister-in-law, Nancy Upson, grandchildren, Courtni (Joseph) Thomas, Vanessa Black, Halleigh (Devon) Neely, Jasmine (Conner) Vestal, Gage Black, McKinley and Miles Watson, Jayme and Jordan Follis, great-grandchildren, Jairus and Jacelyn Thomas, Aspen Huckabey, Oakland and Stetson Neely, Jilyn, Tilee, Ashton, Madison, Brittian, Hallie, Kohen. Several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olive AME Zion Church, 133 County Road 812, Etowah, TN with Pastor, Reverend Benjamin F. Jackson, Jr. officiating. The family of will receive friends one hour before the service at 1:00 p.m.
