Ponce DeLeon Robinson passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Select Critical Care Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Ponce was born in Alcoa Tennessee to the late Walter (Sr.) and Mamie Robinson on January 17, 1941. He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Walter Jr., and two sisters, Priscilla, and Treska (James). He is survived by his brother,
Lester Von Robinson of Alcoa, TN; two sons, Ponce Deleon Robinson II (Cheryl) of Suffolk, VA and Terrance Lavelle Robinson of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Ponce Deleon Robinson III (Aaliyah) and Kirah Milan Robinson, Nicholas and Sterling Robinson; and great-grandchildren,
Ponce Deleon Robinson IV and Lamont Cornick. He also leaves a special cousin, Linda, who lovingly helped with his care, a host of other relatives in the Robinson and Flowers families, many friends, and acquaintances.
Ponce graduated from Charles M. Hall High School in Alcoa, TN, and Delaware State University. He also served in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a youth counselor while living in Virginia Beach, VA, and was also self-employed.
Some of his favorite past-times included traveling in his Jeep, fishing, shopping at swap meets, going to Asian buffets, and spending time at his favorite casinos. Ponce will be remembered and missed by many who loved and knew him.
